Hello! I received this computer as a gift for Christmas about 4 years back.
It is a Dell Inspiron 531s. Hence it is in a smaller case than most standard Computers.

I am wondering if I need a special type of GPU for this computer, since it's smaller.
These are the current specs of my GPU:

There is also an ATI Radeon card built in of some sort, but I am not using that as the main GPU at the moment.
So, for my question. I know it is possible to upgrade my RAM. But will I need a specific TYPE of GPU to upgrade this with?
Or can I buy one of those modern "powerhouses" that major gaming computers use..?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :D

Hello Corey and Welcome to CHF,

You won't be able to use a "powerhouse" video card without upgrading your power supply.
The 531 does have a PCI Express slot for an upgraded video card. How much were you
    looking to spend?

    Hi,

I have not checked the sizes - but with many smaller cases you need a low profile card.
There is a selection of reasonably priced ones here:

This is NOT a recommendation - just for comparrison.
