A few weeks ago I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my laptop with no problem
what soever. How I am attempting to upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on my
desktop computer and can not do it. When I click the Windows free upgrade on the right
bottom of my monitor nothing happens. It does not show "Reserve my upgrade" nor "up
date now", nor "update later" and finally "schedule my upgrade". No matter what I do I
cannot upgrade to Windows 10. Please help me with this problem.

    Thank you,
    Terry

Go to the folder where you downloaded the file, probably your Downloads folder. Double-click on it to run it.

Alternatively, go back to that link and instead of Saving the file, choose Run.

    You should this file: GetWindows10-Web_Default_Attr

When you double click to open it, you should see this window (open the attachment if you don't see my screen shot). Click on Upgrade now.

Terry how long are you waiting. With the amount of traffic that they are possibility having there, may be a delay in the response. What security software (antivirus, spam ware, so on so forth) do you have running. That may be blocking it for some reason.

Hi Terry, let me try to explain this a bit differently.

When you went to your Downloads folder, did you see a file called GetWindows10-Web_Default_Attr?

Tony D...I opened the attachment you sent me and attempted to click on the "Upgrade now" but the box it was in remained gray and I could not connect. I don't know what else to do.

Tony D.. No, I can not find it in my downloads folder. No matter what I do I can't upgrade to Windows 10. As I stated with my
first post with this problem, I had no problems whatsoever with I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on my laptop.

Is there another user on that system that you can download the file to and see if it will run for you that way?

Might even try creating a user to try with.

    Terry,

Go HERE to the Download Tool Now button. Use it to Upgrade your 8.1 or use it to make install media (DVD or USB) & Upgrade w/ that.
