    Hi There,

So i'm having some problems with the scroll on chrome with windows 10 (64-bit). It will work fine for a short while then it will just stop working and the only way to fix it is to restart chrome.

I have tried reinstalling Chrome, disabling/enabling smooth scroll in the chrome flags settings and have had a search around on different forums and have not found much.

Also to note the scroll seems to work fine in explorer, outlook and any other programs I happen to have running at the time.

    My system
    Dell XPS 15 9550
    Chrome Version 53.0.2785.89 m (64-bit)
    Windows 10 Home (64-bit) 1607
    8GB RAM
    i7-6700HQ CPU
    nVidia 960M 2GB GPU

If you could help me out that would be great!

    Thanks,

Check the mouse setting there may be something there.

Windows 10 may have updated the driver and defaulted some of the settings.

Is your "touch events" set to enabled?

@Rustys What kind of settings? I don't see how it could affect only chrome and none of my other programs.

I should mention it started when I updated to the Win10 anniversary update

@DSTM (Dougie) It's currently set to automatic but will try it with enabled.

Found this on the Chrome help forum.

Enter about:flags and then see if enabling touch events is helpful. Relaunch.

    On another place found this:

Try entering chrome://flags in your adress bar, searching for Enable touch events and setting that dropdown to Disabled. Recent versions of chrome do strange things on some pages that rely on detecting touch capabilities. Honestly I don't know why, but disabling touch events usually fixes the issue. You'll be left without touch support though, which may or may not be a dealbreaker for you.

That's what I was referring to in #8.

Open Google Chrome, go to chrome://flags and then press ctrl + f to search for "touch" without quotes and make sure Enable touch events is set to enabled

    Fingers crossed!

Yup looks like when I started using my computer this morning the scroll stopped working again, will try it with touch events disabled and see if that works.

After you get it working reboot and see if it still works.

May need to Reset Chrome (Restore setting to their original defaults). There may be a setting some place that is causing a hic up. You may need to do some fine tuning afterwards to set the look and feel.

Would do the reset (if needed) then get the two finger scrolling fixed then make changes one by one.

    Reset Chrome settings to default

Reset settings, disabled and enabled force touch still stops working after a while, though I have to admit it's taking longer for it to stop working now... or maybe it's just me checking it so often
