Trouble Playing Videos

    Many of my older movies were downloaded and played on Win 7. They won't play on Win 10 I suppose for the lack of the correct Win codecs. I have tried downloading codecs packages, but nothing seems to work.
    What do you think of this idea? Since I have VirtualBox installed, couldn't I download the installer for Win 7 and run it on my VM. Perhaps the correct codecs will be there? Thanks.

    Windows 7
    Install VLC on Windows 10. It plays almost anything and includes codecs so you don't have to worry about installing the ones you need.
