As mentioned in an earlier post I've just bought the Tropico box set. Unfortunately I can't install it as my PC doesn't have a DVD / CD drive, so I checked to see if I could download it from Steam.

The guy in the shop assured me it wasn't an expansion pack or anything, and that the 4 instalments of Tropico were all stand-alone games, but when I go to the download page for Tropico 4 on Steam, I get the message
Do I presume from this that Tropico 4: Steam Edition is included on the disc?
This is my first foray into PC gaming, and it's every bit the nightmare I imagined it would be :grr:

I'm not sure about this, but think I'm correct. You could purchase a USB DVD/CD drive. They work really well and they aren't expensive

Thing is, donetao, I never even set out to own a gaming PC, and certainly never intended to go spending more money, just to play some 5 year-old city-building game.

Hi !You just plug it into a USB port. Your PC should find any drivers that it needs. I run a 4 year old Toshiba laptop. My DVD/CD drive will read, but it won't write. I don't write that much. My friend loaned me his and I burnt some DVD's that I needed.
I haven't got around to buying one. I checked Staples once and they were out.
Good luck! Hope I have helped you. If you got your issue solved on CHF, please tell your friends about us.
