Is it a good idea to turn off Autofill and type in my own log-ins and if several work to choose the one I wish to keep and delete the others? I have been trying to think of a way to test my logins ( I found I have more than one for some certain sites and do not know why). I want to copy them to a paper list and have only ONE that works, not many). I realize I should have then written down on paper. I was always afraid to do that. But now I think it a good idea. I guess I was lazy at first and it was easier not to write them all down for anyone to pick up and use. Now it is best I think to have a list of them. But I found I have seven for one website. I thought I might turn off Autofill and then go to site and type them in to see which work or not then delete the extras. End up with only ONE login. Any suggestions?

It really isn't a good idea to use the same password on multiple sites.
The user name is fine to use as a log in but not passwords.

They really are not all the same. But as I was looking through them I found I had 7 different logins for the same site. I only need or want ONE user and ONE password but not 7 different logins. I thought I would turn off autofill and try to figure out if all or which ones work and delete all that I do not want and end up with only ONE LOGIN that is functional. I at first did not know how to do this so I mentioned it on the forum. Since the logins are saved I only g to the site and do not have to look in a book and type in the login. Now i realize that might not be a good thing after all even though it is easier.

Can anyone suggest a quick, easy way to eliminate extra logins and have only ONE login username/password without deleting them all and creating new one? I do not wish to delete them all and then go to site and create a new login. Nor do I wish to continue having 7 different logins and knowing not which ones work and which if any do not. At first I thought it simple not to have to have a list and type them in all the time so I thought to use the save logins and autofill feture. But now I see that can cause problems. I wrote them all on a piece of paper for access but am unsure of a method. And did not wish to simply delete all and re-create a login. I have had problems with theft and impersonation and do not wish to choose an unsafe method. Looking for some suggestions from those who may know better than I. Thank you for any help.

Maybe I could write down all the log-ins, turn off Autofill and try each one and see which work and do not work. Then if I know which work I can delete all the rest. I am not totally understanding this and do not eally want to create a new login unless necessary.

I do hope someone will give me some suggestions but if that does not happen I shall have to attempt it on my own. I was unsure of how to go about it and did not have the time but maybe I will have to try it on my own.

That is the only sure-fire way I can think of, short of starting all over again.

Thank you, Cindy. That is the only approach I could think of also.

If I ever get some spare time I may try it. I ordered something from eBay and someone stole my package and identity and using my name and sign in wrote to eBay and thanked them for the fast service. But since I do not know for sure what might ship with FedEx or go through this FedEx processing north of me I am getting cautious about ordering from eBay now. So I wanted to have more control over me logins. I did not like it when I saw I had 7 log-ins when only thought I had one. I must test them all to see which actually works and maybe delete the rest. I had stopped ordering eBay items that came from certain directions but then I had no suspicious activity so I stopped being concerned. I certainly do not want to delete them all then do it all over again if I even can remember how. Maybe I am just lazy which is why I do not wish to type them in each time. Took the easy way out.

I was thinking about this. Since your package was stolen with one of the eBay logins, I would not use any of the eBay logins you currently use. Get rid of all the usernames and passwords for eBay and start fresh.

Now chose an entirely new username, not similar to any of the others you have. Chose a password that is a mix of letters, numbers and special characters that is at least 12 characters long. WRITE IT DOWN!. If it is only you and your wife in your home, it would be safe to keep the note with the info out and handy to use.

    You can go here https://passwordsgenerator.net/
to generate a strong, random password. Put 12 in the top box (length). Check the boxes that say: Include numbers, include lowercase characters, include uppercase characters, include symbols, no similar characters. Last under Quantity you can select more than 1 to generate several usable strong, random password but only choose one for eBay.

I guess I have just been too nervous to try it. I used to avoid ordering items I thought might come by FedEx via the North Wales office and after a long time witout incidents I guess I forgot to avoid ordering fom eBay locations in certain directions from me. This time it got me though. I guess I will have to relearn how to set up eBay ordering accounts. I guess I should periodically change my log-ins. Just lazy and like the convenience of not writing or typing in the log-in.
