I know Token Ring is an Old Networking Type.

And iEEE 802.3 CSMA / CD is how Data is checked as it going around the Network.

But why is Token Ring called iEEE 802.5 if that was before?

It's been so long since I studied these. I pulled my old TCP/IP book off the shelf. Got a slight headache, but found this. Don't know if it answers your question. Not quite sure I understand what's going on with all this myself. Here it is on p21 in the Link Layer section.

"802.3 covers an entire set of CSMA/CD networks
802.4 covers token bus networks and
    802.5 covers token ring networks.
Common to all three of these is the 802.2 standard that defines the logical link control (LLC) common to manyu of the 802 networks. Unfortunately the combination of 802.2 and 802.3 defines a different frame format from true Ethernet."
