Last week I was complaining with my Mac expert about Apple updates being bad. This post shows MS is still the leader when it comes to poorly written/researched updates.

I manually update our four Windows 7 computers. It has come to the point where I image BEFORE I do the security only updates and I wait a month to do them. February's updates I installed in March and March's updates will be installed sometime in April.
MS releases patches for bad updates/patches. If I wait long enough, perhaps they'll have a good update instead of patches on top of patches. <sigh>

    It's not that simple.

The affected systems are a drop in the bucket compared to the millions that have had no such issues. There is no way MS can account for all the variables. It's astonishing at their update success rate, especially when MS has to consider open hardware and antivirus to which Apple does not.

With that said, this isn't a thumbs up to MS, or a thumbs down to Apple.

A bit off topic: I got a chuckle when I read somewhere that OS11 is like Windows Vista.

The only reason I no longer consider Apple hardware is because a) I don't want to spend much money (senior citizen, fixed income and no need for bleeding edge products) and b) no way do I want to be forced to use iTunes (refused to install in Windows and I also refuse to use Windows Media player too).
