Here's a couple of Youtube videos that will interest you Dougie. The first one describes
how to add a snow effect to an image by using a Photoshop plugin called Vanderlee.

The second one shows how to add animated snow to an image. I'd be interested to
    know what you think.

    Hi Frank.
Gavin makes very good Tutorials, as does Arron Nace, and Howard Pinsky.
I have used Vanderlee Snow Flakes, for some years now, as you know.
Another method of making Snow Flakes, I like is the Noise/Pixilate/Crystallize.
Slower than Vanderlee, however they look realistic, if done right.

Hard to find a good Tutorial of animated Snow, actually falling.
    Been searching for some years.

The Photoshop Cafe Tutorial gives excellent results, but far too many steps,IMO.
There has to be some Tutorial, as good with fewer steps.
Wondered why Colin faded out the Snow Flakes, right at the end, just before they hit the ground?
    I thought that was unnecessary.

PS. I want his Computer. Must have cost mega $$$$$

    I like the effect.
