Hello friends, since the end of life for Win 10 is coming up soon, I want to switch to Linux. My laptop is an older Acer Aspire E15. I recently changed out the mechanical hard drive for a SATA SSD 246 Gigs. The original HD was just too slow. Win 10 works great on the machine, but when I go to install Linux on it, I run into trouble. The installation runs normally right up to the part where I am asked to try Linux or install it. When I click install it the installation starts but does not complete all the way, so I get left with an erased disk and no OS. I have tried the installation three times with the same results. I used a 16 Gig USB drive and burned Linux Mint to it with Belena Etcher so I don't think that should have been a problem. If anything, the PC should run Linux far better than Win 10 since it is an older machine. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Additionally, the error I get when I try to load up Linux to the machine is; "
    "Loading error; scrolled:
SQUASHFS Failed To Read block 0x58c8cf4b". Of course, I don't know what that means, but maybe it will shed some light on this?

Generally speaking those errors often occur because of a corrupted image or a bad burn.

Try downloading the image again and use a different software, I am using Rufus at the moment and have found it to be quite capable.
