Hi. Looking to upgrade to an SSD drive. By what I have been able to find out, it seems like an m.2 NVMe is the way to go. My question is, will it work with my computer! I DO have a socket for it (according to the motherboard specs - 1 x M.2_SSD (NGFF) Socket 3, supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen2 x4 (20 Gb/s)). However, it also states the following - If PCIE4 is occupied, M2_1 will be disabled. The M.2 socket does not support SATA M.2 SSDs.
Currently the PCI4 slot is unoccupied but the m.2 slot is kind of under my graphics card. I assume, an hope?, that the SSD can tuck under there??? Otherwise id have to move the graphics card to the PCI4 slot thud rendering the m.2 useless.
This is the MB I have:

the graphics card is in the PCIe2 slot currently.
Could anyone tell me 1. if the SDD will fit under that graphics card and 2. will this SDD work -
    Samsung 970 Evo Plus
    Thanks so much in advance!

There's a lot of possibilities and nuances in adding or upgrading the storage device for that motherboard. My suggestion is to post your questions on the ASRock forum:
