    My system crashed about 2 months ago and I took it to a local computer shop
    to get it restored.

    Now when I download my updates, it will not allow Service Pack XP to
    download. What can I do?

    Please read and then transcribe *verbatim* (word-for-word) what you are
    seeing/being asked to install in response to this conversation you have
    started.

    At this time no one can be 100% sure of what you are asking - as there are a
    total of three service packs available for Windows XP (32-bit) itself and a
    few available for the various Microsoft Office products (one of which is
    Office XP...)

    In addition, I will ask you to provide the following informatin (including
    the method of getting the two items I am requestion you give...)

    ou likely got infested with malware...

    Start button --> RUN
    (no "RUN"? Press the "Windows Key" + R on your keyboard) --> type in:
    winver
    --> Click OK.

    The picture at the top of the window that opens will give you the general
    (Operating System name) while the line starting with the word "version" will
    give you the rest of the story. Post both in response to this message
    verbatim. ;-)
