    Hi,

Is it possible that Windows task manager's performance display shows
the wrong page-file value. we have a machine running windows server 2003
and the value of the page-file is unusually high at 1.67GB. but the
processes make up for nowhere near that value. I have also used 'process
explorer' to verify this and it also shows the same value of both
    process value and page-file value.

    Thanks in advance,

The pagefile size is not normally determined by processes (unless it needs
to grow larger due to the processes).

Here's a link that explains it.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555223

The default is usually 1.5 times the amount of RAM installed. Regardless of
how much you really need. If you have 1GB of RAM the default pagefile size
would be around 1.5GB. So... in your example, it doesn't seem big at all.
