Hello, I recently had some issues with my PC and I ended up having to do a fresh install of Windows. The repair place I took it to (after working on it myself for appx 3 hrs and being completely stumped and frustrated,) updated me to Windows 11.

Edit: Should probably also include what went wrong with my PC.
[The GPU wouldn't display out after I slotted in a different GPU to test if that one worked. When I slotted mine back in, lights came on, but no display. Computer repair ended up just being reseating all components on the motherboard and doing a fresh install of Windows as they said mine was corrupted]
Tldr; Shop reseated all components to get the GPU to display out again.

I figured it wasn't a big deal since Windows 10 was getting discontinued and I would need to upgrade eventually (even though I was holding on to my precious Windows 10 for dear life.) But I have been having lots of issues since the update.

Currently my PC is running with two monitors, but my secondary monitor will go in and out and eventually completely lose signal after about an hour. It's connected via VGA, so it's fairly secure and I never had any issues with the cables going out in the past. The monitor in question is secured to a stable arm so I definitely didn't dislodge it. I have also tried plugging it in again but it didn't fix the issue.

I'm working on testing with other games, but so far the only games it does this for are the games on the Microsoft Xbox launcher. Is there a known incompatibility with AMD/Ryzen/Radeon and Xbox? Or is the Windows 11 update to blame?

    PC Specs:
    AMD Ryzen 5600G
    Radeon RX 6600 XT

Hello and welcome. If you can switch the primary and secondary monitors, do that to eliminate an issue with the monitor. It's probably not a monitor problem, but it's easy to rule out first.

Since it only happens with certain games, I'd say you have a compatibility issue. However, it may be RAM related. I know it sounds weird but I've seen a computer that worked perfectly until a certain game was played. It turned out to be a RAM issue. Replacing the RAM fixed the problem. Do you have RAM that you can swap out?

Thank you for your reply, but I think I have it figured out.

I ended up rolling back a Windows 11 update (KB5046633,) which made the monitor flicker on startup. So I tried fully uninstalling the monitor drivers with device manager and reconnecting. After plugging it back in, things seem to be working smoothly again.

I'll report back on a new thread if things end up not working since I haven't tried on many games just yet.

Excellent! Blame it on an update.
Did you try it on the games that were exhibiting the display issue?
