How do I remove Search Suggestions from my Google Chrome Google search engine? Google Chrome browser and Google chrome default search engine.
They appear to be already turned off but they still appear.

Possibly what is appearing is in history. Have you cleared the history?

I don't have Chrome installed on any Windows computers so I can't test. I also don't use chrome as my default search engine.

It might also be autocomplete. See that autocomplete is not turned on.

I do not generally clear the history. In fact I do not recall ever clearing it for did not know what would be lost. I keep getting notices that to get future updates for Google Chrome I will need Windows 10 or later so I am thinking of going back to Firefox. But Firefox has un-updated passwords fo I did not realize these were saved in the Google and not the computer in general. So when I used Firefox many passwords did not work. So I am planning how to update any Firefox passwords that are not current.
One reason I stopped liking Google is that before I could do a search and drag the URL to a folder then view the results again. Then it began to only go to a blank search page but not the results.Never happened before and I was used to saving the search results and now I cannot. Frustrating. With Google searchI CAN drag the search results. When try to drag DuckDuckGo search results I get a blank search page with no results. Usually I only clear the browsing history under Privacy and Security settings. Not even sure how to clear history other than that.
Also, I find I do not seem to know how to sign in to Chrome. Only to Google.
I do not know if this is correct or not but I just downloaded Chrome setup. I always thought google and Chrome were the same thing. Now it seems they might be different things. Can you confirm or straighten me out??

How to you sign into Google.

Google is a company - it consists of people. Chrome is a browser, a program created by the programmers at Google.

I guess I just do not understand Google. I guess I am already signed in so I just open it.. I see in left tray at bottom of screen I have 19 shortcuts for quick access. one says Google Chrome Access the Internet, next says DuckDuckGo search, the next says Google Search when hover over the icon - (See the uploaded file for picture). #1 is START, #15,16,17 are Google Chrome Access Internet, DuckDuckGo Search, and Google Search. I am now using mostly the Google Search for I can save the search results URL to view later. All of a sudden it did not seem like I understood it all. As soon as I get my logins straightened out and the same for Google and Firefox I plan to return to Firefox. The Google logins are more recent for I was using Google and just made new when required. Now they do not work in Firefox. I made a copy to compare and update Firefox logins. If that is correct thing to do.

After my panic subsides I think what I will do is copy a list of my Google logins some of which are updated. Then begin to use Firefox. If I try to login and it does not work I will view my Google login and update the Firefox one. They MAY work for I found a page in Firefox that offerred to import logins and I tried to do that. Have not tried any yet though. But if it did not, I do not use them ALL so if any fail I can just view my newer list and update. That should work.

I finally was able to set Firefox as my default but then I did not know how to reurn to Google as default. I finally got that to happen and may wisely leave it "AS IS" ...at least until I learn more.

Yes..I wanted to go back to firefox like I used before but all the logins I had unthinkingly updated in Google. Now Google says I will not get updates unless I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 or later. So I thought I would try returning to Firefox but found all the logins wwould not work due to updating. Looks like I have to relearn computing.

You can still use Chrome even if it doesn't update. I get the same message every time I launch Brave. I just X out the message and continue to use Brave.

It's not recommended to use an outdated browser because of security concerns.

I have brave, edge, google and chrome, firefox , and duckduckgo search installed. Only really used firefox and google though.I have never upgraded from one windows to the next and feared the cost and trouble to do it. Usually just bought a new computer.
