    Hello!

I have a Samsung 27in curved monitor that was recently bought second hand. We were told there were not issues, but we plugged it in and powered it on to see no picture! Neither myself or my wife are too good with this stuff. I've tried to go into the menu to see if there were any settings we could change but almost every option is greyed out. Any idea helps!

Hello and Welcome to Computer Help Forums.
Do you have it plugged into on board graphics or a dedicated card?

So you are attempting to use this as a secondary display?

As of right now we are attempting to run her laptop on desktop mode and use the monitor as the primary monitor

There should be a button on the laptop to switch between the laptop display and an external display. It's typically located on the top row of buttons and may have an Fn button modifier required to switch between the modes. Find that button and understand what it does.

Also, it looks like the monitor has a PC/AV Mode. It should be in PC mode.

We figured it out! After trying a million things we cracked it open and found out the HDMI input was internally separated from the board! After getting that fixed, all is working well. Thank you all for your assistance

I guess it's the old Buyer Beware situation here.
    Anyway, glad you resolved it.
