I was wondering if the bottom part of a laptop - the whole part including keyboard and mouse button, that's joined by hinges to the screen - can actually be removed and a replacement bought somewhere , and if anyone knows how you'd go about doing this and where you'd get a replacement part from?
I accidentally caused damage to this part and the marks won't come out

Hello duncantodd. The bottom of most laptops have three basic components - the top case, the bottom case, and the system board. All can be replaced. Other parts include the keyboard, hard drive, optical drive, wireless network adapter, etc.

Is your machine working? Is it only the cosmetics you're concerned about? You can usually find the top and bottom cases on eBay.

What make and model is this laptop?
