Thank you Ken. A bit of zoom with the camera helped For the top picture I was just below the tree, but for second picture I was a bit farther away.

Lovely pictures.  I am puzzled as to why they are called BALD.

Hi andsome, how have you been???? They are called bald because of the white feathers on their head.

I loved the shots of the bald eagle redwing, very nice indeed.  Did you know that we have more bald eagles in Canada than they do in the states???? yet it is one of their main national symbols.  I love rapters and there is a bald eagle nest about a mile from where I live. :jump:

Mara , it is wonderful to see you back here, I hope things are going well for you...

Rich, they do an annual eagle count at Brackendale, and there are several cams up for eagle nests in B.C.  I watched one they had on Vancouver Island a few years back.  They are such magnificent birds.

I wasn't aware we had such large numbers of the beautiful eagles here in Canada, Richardo, but I'm glad we do!

Redwing, was it the cam where we got to see the eggs and then the little ones being hatched in the nest, etc?

We were lucky enough to live where an eagle took up residence in the top of a huge tree right beside our house ... and to watch her soar - wow!!  I wasn't ever sure if she really could swoop down and swipe our kittens so used to keep them indoors 'just in case' - but it was sure magic watching this incredible eagle fly!
