    Mornin everyone/anyone
I hope I'm in the right place here, I have an issue with my laptop reading magazines using readly.com, the website for reading magazines is go.readly.com, I can access readly OK using my wifi on my mobile phone but its too small to read, but when I try on my laptop I get the timed-out message, but when I use a different wifi at another house I can access readly OK, readly aren't any help at all, they say I have a wifi problem, but if I have a wifi problem wow come I can read om my mobile phone using the same wifi?

any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated nottonto

Interesting problem. See if you can read a magazine with your laptop connected directly to your router with an Ethernet cable. If that works, then there's something going on with your wifi at home. If you still can't read a magazine with the laptop connected with an Ethernet cable, then it's something with how your laptop connects wirelessly to your router.

Another thing you could also try resetting your router. You could just turn it off and wait a few seconds then turn it on again. Do other web sites connect OK on the laptop?

    Hi again Tony D
I tried your suggestion but the outcome was exactly the same as using my wifi, I've also reset my router, I only have this problem since I signed-up to readly.com, all other websites are normal.
It's a mystery way above my paygrade
one thing I have noticed is.......when I click on read latest issue ; in the laptop address bar it says about:blank, not the web address required (https://go.readly.com) which shows in the address bar when this message appears....."this site can't be reached, co.readly.com took too long to respond", there's also a small circle, 3mm dia.,with i inside it saying the site is not secure, I can't take a screenshot as the message disappears when I select screen snip
hope this extra info provides good clues to you experts

    thanks nottonto

Since you have the same problem when using a direct ethernet connection, we can rule out a WiFi issue.
That would rule out a computer issue.
So maybe something in the home router. However, you said you have no problem when using your phone. That would rule out a router configuration issue ... unless ... when you're using the phone, the phone is using the phone's carrier connection instead of being connected to your wireless router.

So, make sure your phone is connecting to the Internet via your home router and not your carrier.

    Hi Tony D
    thanks again for your help
I don't use mobile data on my mobile phone, just my home wifi so the plot thickens
So; my laptop is OK, my wifi is OK, what else is there ?
