This is only to find out if others are having problems with Firefox, as I have already had several verbal reports from other folks I know who are also suffering the Windows message "Firefox has stopped working" or a full crash with the Firefox window opening with the standard "We are sorry that Firefox has crashed, would you like to send a report"
Other folk are also reporting that firefox comes up with a message that "there are two instances of Firefox working in the background" or other odd messages.

Anyone else seeing this or similar behaviour from version 29.0.1 ?

Also has anyone seen any reports either from Mozilla or other sources?

Would be obliged to hear from others so I can send more details to Mozilla if required.

    Nev.

I'm not a firefox user so I can't speak from personal experience Nev.

I haven't had any of my customers complain about it lately but I do think it may be why Rich switched to Chrome.

When i get the message, "Firefox has stopped working", i do the following....
Right click system tray & click "Start Task Manager". Under "Processes" i highlight "firefox.exe" & then click "end process". That temporarily stops the problem. I may have to do the above two-three times a week.

Cindy is right I have been getting those shutdowns a lot lately since version 29. I have always had issues with Firefox services running even after browser shutdown so at times if something asks for Firefox to be closed to perform something, I have to do what N3 talks about in shutting down the service though lately I have had the same issue with IE also. I never even use it yet twice when I went to install programs I got the message "Explorer must shut down to continue" and I had to shut down IE in processes as Explorer was not there to allow those installs. I am getting tired of this which is sending me back to Chrome again as it did in the past. I might just put back 28 version and wait a while as this one seems quite buggy.

Last time I left Firefox its because my Brokerage house page was so distorted I couldn't make any transactions and that was that way from version 11.0 to 25.0 so I hope this screw up is quicker as I really prefer Firefox to Chrome.

    Hi

I only just read this and wonder why nobody has pointed out Pale Moon Browser I am currently using it thanks to Starbuck, and it is just the same look as firefox in fact only the name and of course it works lots better try it out you will be surprised just remember to use the Migration Tool to copy over your firefox profile which will keep you configurations and bookmarks and addons also your appearance in tact as it was in firefox.

Pale Moon i think is a smoother than firefox and hassle free.

Yeah Pete told us about that one a while ago and I should have checked it out but it has to be able to take all my addons and I think I looked and Last Pass was not working with it but I'll have another look as I am getting tired of these issues.

    Hi Rich

Thought that might be the case, just wondered why nobody had suggested it as an alternative as for your addons I have no clue i have minimal addons which all work great with no complaints I never use password management things I not trust them which is of course my own personal view with no real proof of anything just a personal choice ... hope it works out with pale moon for you now.

Hey Ken that is an acceptable addon for Pale Moon. Just go into Tools, addons, and in the search bar on the page (not browser surf bar) type in "3D Anaglyph creator " and it comes right up to install and just choose to install.
I tried it it is there for Pale Moon.

I am lead to believe that Mozilla have put out a BETA of Firefox 30, I haven't even looked for it as yet.
Though unconfirmed as it is early days, the BETA performs well.

I have to agree with Joker. I once went from version 11.0 to 25.0 without having been able to use my brokerage site at all on Firefox and I see when FF has a problem, they take forever to solve it. It would be hard to talk me into a beta version for something where the "finished version" is full of bugs. I really think their reign has come and gone. Chrome is much more stable though I had a problem with the same brokerage site that rendered so badly and that is what sent me back to FF, but the interface of Chrome is awful by comparison IMHO.
I love the interface of Pale Moon.
