Went to use Acrobat and got message of a problem with it. The screen just froze and program would not open. Had to restart to get it gone. Same thing happened again. Does it stop working after a long time or on Windows 7? Never experienced this before. I am afraid to try and open it again. Don't recall updating it lately. Any suggestions? I am unsure what to do.

I'll assume you're using Acrobat Reader, not Acrobat. If that's the case, uninstall Acrobat Reader. Then install it from https://get.adobe.com/reader/

Make sure you uncheck the box to install McAfee Security Scan Plus

I downloaded the Acrobat Reader. How do I uninstall current reader?
I think I just found it in Control Panel/Programs and Features. Am trying it now.

I downloaded as you said. I went to Control Panel Programs and Features, selected and uninstalled Acrobat Reader and it did not show up in the list again. I downoaded the Acrobat Reader and am installing it now. It is about half done. I am waiting for it to finish. It says "FINISHED". Am clicking Finish to exit setup. It has appeared in the programs list now. Have not tried it yet. And a desktop shortcut has appeared which says Acrobat Reader with the symbol. I hope I did it right.

Seemed to succeed. Now I will have to learn howto use it again. Will let you know. Thank you for the help.

Originally I was trying to view a charge card statement with Acrobat Reader and it kept freezing on the screen. Then it worked once but not next time. So I posted and tried downloading another, removed the old, and installed the new. It worked. Then I tried and it froze again but it closed and when tried second time it worked fine. Maybe this will be the solution. I hope so.
I wondered why some of these posts offer an Edit choice and others do not?

You can delete the desktop shortcut to Acrobat Reader. It's not needed and it clutters the desktop. You'll never use that shortcut. The program will stay installed even if the shortcut is deleted.
