    Hello,
Recently in the past month or two my connection has gone sporadic. The connection goes from fine to hardly or not even being able to load websites. I also play games online frequently and this is were it bothers me most, because my ping will be 30-90s then jump to 300-400 for a few minutes then go back down to normal for a bit.
I've tried countless things; updating router, buying a newer router, and calling my ISP(they said there was a lot of network congestive; and reset the connection) all to no avail.
I've tried directly connecting to the modem, and its still the same problem. So basically I want to know what I need to do or what the problem may be. I am assuming its the modem box ( not sure exactly what its called) might be faulty or something maybe wrong with the line around me. I don't know just really need some help, its getting really frustrating.

thanks in advance for any advice given =] .

I would reset the modem/router and it would go fine for say 20 hrs and then for 10 mins load sites OK and then would hardly load sites. It fluctuated up and down.I got sick of resetting it. I bought a new D-LINK modem/router combination and it's loading sites excellent to my bandwidth.

Check your internet download speed regularly and see if it's consistent first.

Reset your modem and see how long before it starts to slow up.

Okay, so I think my problem might be how I am configuring the modem with the router. My router is a Motorola that came with my ISP years ago, and currently I just got a Netgear n600; should the gateway/modem be the same company as router or it doesnt make a difference? This is just pure speculation

And I reset my modem and its running smooth currently. Ill keep you updated when it starts messing up.
