I would rather not have a D drive, but have everything all in one drive to use the 1 terabyte of space there. But my pc partitions are not set up that way, and I am afraid if I tried to resize them, I would mess it up. Please walk me through that process. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. One more related subject; if the one partition with the C drive in it gets full will space automatically open up up in the other drive D? D has nearly 1 Terabyte of space. If that is the case then I do not really need to combine them.

Then it is imperative that I learn how to expand C from D without losing any data. From what I have seen of doing that via Windows means deleting the data out of one drive, reducing it and then expanding the C drive.
I will visit this site and see what the info says. Thank You. However, if it involves doing it via Windows, I hesitate. Is there not software that can resize partitions with losing or deleting data safely? As you can see by the attachment, the C drive is almost full.

I am in a bad situation here as I am getting shut down by Windows and error reports sent due to memory management errors. I have to hard boot the pc each time. The tutorial was fine for someone who is a bit better versed on partitions than I am. But I am old and unable to understand it all. This is the problem: I have two disks, a solid state SATA GPT 119 GB and a 1 TB SATA MBR. I am running out of space on the 119 GB disk. Can these two disks be combined? They are different types, one is GPT and the other is MBR. I need to use that nearly 1 TB of space, but I do not know if these two can be combined.
I did download software since last I posted, but even that is confusing to me. Likewise, I do not want to delete anything and I want to keep the data in both places. However, this software tells me that all data will be erased if I proceed. I cannot back up the data because I do not have an available media to do it with. This is a small Island I live on and there is no computer store here, so I have to do it all myself. What should I do?

I didn't realize you had 2 different drives. I thought it was 1 drive with 2 partitions sorry. What it is telling you is correct you will lose data. You won't be able to combine them either. The only thing you will be able to do is get a bigger drive for the C drive. Then you would have to clone the old to the new drive. If you have any files or pictures or even videos you could move them on to the 1 TB drive. If you need help doing that let us know. That would free up some space on the C drive. What brand computer is it?

It is a Bosston Desk top that I bought used. It is a former gaming computer.
Even if I try to move things to the D drive, the pc goes into blue screen :( and gathers information to send to Microsoft. It is stop code error Memory Management. Which makes sense. Same thing when I try to pull up my Google browser. I never know when it is going to happen. Isn't there anything I can do to at least stop the blue screen errors?
I could possibly order a larger C drive if I knew what I was ordering. Likewise, I would have to put it in myself. As far as cloning is concerned, no idea how to do that.
So the software will do me no good?
I will keep trying to move stuff from C to D as it will let me. Thanks.

I moved as much stuff as I could to D and deleted apps I did not need right now. It did free up some space, see attachments.

Like I said above, I removed as much as I dared from Drive C to D. I went into D and played a movie. About 20 minutes into the movie, the pc went to blue screen again and began collecting data to do a restart. I did a hard boot at that point.
There must be more to this than just a disk getting full. The desk is not that full now. Also, I ran the disk clean up Windows tool on both and then ran defrag on both.

Since Windows was going down so much I decided to do the obvious thing and reset Windows and keep my personal files. After that completed I ran the same movies I was watching when it went down. So far things are working normally. I realize now that I need to only download apps that I absolutely need. But how this solved the problem of Memory error I do not know except that perhaps I had too many apps to begin with on a 223 MB system. Thank You.

Yes it is best to only download the apps you need. Glad it is back to running OK just try to save what ever files you may add to the D drive. SSD' S run best when only no more than 80% full.

I did have one concern when my WI-FI connection was cut off. When I did not see connections for Wi-Fi I went to the help option and found the app for automatic connections. I added it and it worked. Thankfully. Many thanks to you for the help.

IJAC, I come back to you since you know about my set up with two seperate disks and all.
Having lots of trouble playing movies after I move them to D disk. It seems they get corrupted in the process of moving them. I must record them from the C disk because that is where the recoding device is at. However I must move them to D because I have limited space on C disk and have 1 TB on D disk. Yet the movies I already have on D disk play just fine. The ones I move now though get corrupted, very strange. The only way I have to move them is by drag and drop no other way exists for this machine. I know the answer lies in getting a larger disk drive for C but I cannot do that right now.
Would it be possible for me to install the recorder 4K video recorder on to D disk? Would the movies play better if the recorder and the movie download were on the same disk? No movies would have to be moved then. I wish I could just put my whole OS on D dick and be done with it but I know Windows cannot run on such a configuration. Thanks for your thoughts.

Check and see on your video recorder gives you the option to save your videos to the D drive. The setting would be some where in a settings or preference menu. If not then yes you could install the recording program on D drive. You said this was a gaming machine that is why it is set up that way. They will use a small SSD for the windows drive and larger hard drive to store games and large files. If you would put the OS on the D drive it would be slower. That is strange the movies get corrupted I am not sure why that would happen. You could also go to the movie you want to move and right click it and copy, then open the D drive and paste it where you want in the D drive. Not sure if that will work and not corrupt it but worth a try. I always copy and paste in case something goes wrong rather than cut and paste. You can go back to the C drive and delete it if all is good.

IJAC This is the most frustrating Windows I have ever worked with since the 1990s.
Now the recorder does not give me the option to save videos to D disk.
So I tried to run the installer on D disk but it would not allow that.
Nor will the system allow me even as Admisistrator to rt click and copy to D.
The thing is this is a new install of Windows 10 keeping my files. This being a Gammer PC I wonder if it is configured in some way to keep gammers from going into the system and doing damage?
Since I can send recorded movies from C to my external hard drive and they play fine, I think I will just buy another large SSD ext drive and forget about D. Its a shame to not be able to use all that space but it is what it is. Thanks.

That is strange sorry I am lost on what to do. I find it strange it works on a external and not the internal. I guess the best thing to do is get a external drive if that works. On your 4 K down loader if you open it and put it in smart mode you can choose where to put the files. I don't know if that will help you or not. No gaming rigs are not configured any different they are just more powerful and have a good graphics card.

Update; all it took to get everything working again and access to the various disks was a Windows reset. Now everything works fine.
