Overclock Intel Quad Q9400 2.66

    Hey guys this is my first post.

    I was wondering, this is my first time ever overclocking. and i wanna know (step by step :D) how to overclock a Intel Quad Q9400 2.66

    I understand i shouldnt over clock it too much. i was thinking about 3.00ghz, is this a good idea..

    My specs are
    Intel Quad Q9400 2.66ghz
    ASUS p5Q3 Deluxe Motherboard
    3 gb DDR3 ram
    Antec 550W
    Gigabyte GTX 275

    Any other things i need to list please tell :D

    what Fans are in the case and where they are.

    What CPU Cooler you have.

    I have an Antec Sonata III 500W

    i think there is 2 fans. 1 is on top of the CPU and 1 is at the back

    Power Supply:
    Seasonic 600Watt
    the one that is on top of the CPU - is it a standard Intel one? it will have a brand name on it somewhere and maybe a model number.
    Quads run hot as it is and they need good cooling as standard let alone overclocked ones.
    The case will be fine, but you may want to consider adding some additional fans as the Quad with the 275 will generate quite a bit of heat

    Get that same fan i got titan fenrir a.k.a THE BEAST
    But it probs wont fit in ure case
    Go to centrecom then
