No Network Adapter Found?

Booted up the PC today and the default motherboards network adapter had been replaced with some Hamachi adapter. (Hamachi being a VPN program). I got rid of everything Hamachi, uninstalled the Hamachi network adapter in the device manager but now I apparently don't have a driver for any network adapter period.

I've tried re installing that specific part of the mobos drivers to then get told "The Realtek Network Controller was not found" I also get told this when installing the Realtek Network Controller.....so yea.


ANYWAY. Figured I'd post this here see if anyone has any suggestions before I just settle for reformatting the drive lol.

You don't have to format the drive.
Give me your exact Motherboard No including the dashes and I will try and find the correct drivers for you.

Click "Support and Downloads"
Choose your Operating system in the box.
All your drivers are there.
Make a folder on your desktop and download to the desktop folder.
Open the driver file in your desktop folder and find eg "setup"or words to that effect and install and reboot.

 

Definitely appreciate the help, but unfortunately this is the thing I tried earlier. It gives me an error stating "The Realtek Network Controller was not found", I then tried installing the Realtek Network Controller but it gave me the same error "The Realtek Network Controller was not found".

 

It's new years eve here and I can't spend anymore time.Sorry.
Follow my instructions and if you do it exactly then it will work.
Forget what you have tried.You prob stuffed up.
If you install the right drivers then you will get no errors.

 

I'll give it another go here in a little bit. Appreciate the help, thank you and have an awesome new years!

Hi Arke91 and welcome to the forums. Is your machine 32bit or 64????? I am thinking that it is 64 bit, therefore, please try this.

The link I gave you is from the Motherboard manufactures own website.
You have the option of 32 or 64 bit naturally.

 

I still got the error saying that I did not have the "Realtek Network Controller" and then when I tried to install the "Realtek Network Controller" it again tells me I don't have it.
 
I selected 64 bit on the site you gave me as well DSTM
 
Quick edit, and it appears for the program Ricardo suggested, I need internet in order for it to search for the drivers in the first place. Don't have internet on the desktop in question at all. Thanks for the suggestion though.

 

That's easily fixed.
Download the drivers files to the desktop on any computer.
Then tranfer the files to a Flash Drive.
Plug the flash drive into the computer you want the drivers for and copy the files to that desktop.
Unzip the file and open.
There will be a lot of entries in the file when you open
Find the install one from the entries and install and reboot.
Done.

 

 
 
Sorry I should have been a bit more specific, I get the "Realtek Network Controller MIssing" error during the installation process you're telling me to do. What you've said above is what I've been doing all along.

 

If you haven't got the internet on the computer in question then you cant unless you do it the way I just posted.
Of course your going to get errors because you can't download anything without the internet.
My instructions work.I use this method often.
I can't be any clearer.

 

Use the same method to download a free "Driver Sweeper" off the net and remove any corrupt drivers you may have installed.
"Realtek Network Controller MIssing" means the Drivers are NOT installed.

 

 
Did you install the VPN ?
 
With all Network Adapters uninstalled from Device Manager - when you boot up does Windows detect new hardware ?
If so - what is it detecting ?
Instead of installing the software yourself - try pointing Windows to it ( flash drive ) if it detects the new hardware on boot up.
 
If Windows doesn't detect new hardware - I am wondering if your Network Adapter has been damaged.
If this is the case - if this is a desktop machine - it is easy to install a PCI Network Adapter.

 

Hamachi is the VPN I installed yes.
 
No new hardware is detected upon boot up in the device manager. I actually don't even have a network adapter category in my device manager anymore.
 
It very well could be damaged. This all started with me having internet, shutting down the computer, installing a second GPU which required me to move a couple things around into different slots on the mobo and upon my next bootup I no longer had internet.
 
It is a desktop machine, and I'm sure I could get enough room in there to install a PCI network adapter. I built it myself and the PCI slots are a TAD cramped but I feel I could make it work. In there currently I have two GPUs, an Avermedia Live Gamer HD Capture card and another thing that slightly gets in the way is the CPU heatsink. I can switch the fans around on that though.
 
Is there a way I could figure out if the onboard mobo network adapter is indeed damaged before I either buy a network adapter or reformat (which isn't even likely a solution anymore if the current adapter is indeed damage).
 
I was thinking maybe installing linux onto my portable HDD and seeing if I get internet connection through that. Since it's a complete fresh install of an OS and I assume won't be connected to programs I have on Win7 at the moment that would let me know if the current on-board adapter is broken or not.

 

There are PCI network adapter extension cables available which may help if your cramped for space.

 

Windows should detect new hardware when you boot up if it isn't showing in Device Manager.
Even the on-board option.
If there is no Network Adapter in Device manager there are no drivers for any Network device loaded.
 
I would try a PCI card ( you can get Wireless too ) 
 
It is possible to use a USB Wireless Adapter.
These, from experience, are not as reliable as the PCI option - but they do work.
