I've had my Samsung Galaxy Ace since 2011 and it's battery life is getting poorer by the day so deciding to join Giff Gaff (sim only deal and heard only good things about it) and get an upgrade on this current model.

I don't mind the size being slightly bigger than the Ace, but looking for an improvement with memory. Not sure if it's the case for all Android phones but the lack of ability to save onto your sd card is utterly annoying.

    Recommendations appreciated!

I've never heard of Giff Gaff and I don't know what phones are supported by Giff Gaff.
I use an unlocked Windows phone that takes a sim card.
It gets approximately 8 full hours of use on a fully charged battery.
    It's a Lumia 521 from newegg.
I do have an sd card that I save everything on.

Why not get the phone through them? They show several available.

Sure, but requiring advice on which phone to get and I'd probably look at a few stores to see if I can get it cheaper plus to unlock the phone for my new sim provider.

I use a Windows phone at work, Lumia 520 (good size but not used it sufficiently to say how good it is plus not heard too many positive things about Windows phones). Samsung would be my first choice, Sony next but Android as an operating system is what I'd like.

Have heard good thing on the Galaxy phones.

Do not know you price range and did see that on Giff Gaff you can do monthly payments.

I think I'm zoning in on the Samsung S5 - it seems to have positive reviews. Anyone using this handset and who can offer some comments would be great.
