Net Framework - Are older versions necessary

    I have successfully re-installed .net framework V1.1 V2.0 V3.0 and all
    necessary service packs and hot fixes on my windows XP computer.

    Question: Can I remove V1.1 and 2.0 using change/remove programs in the
    control panel or is V3.0 dependant on V2.0 being present and V2.0 is
    dependant on V1.1 being installed on the computer?

    Leave them be. Whether or not you need a version depends on what you have
    installed. ;-)

    Maybe install 3.5 and 4.0 should be out in the not-so-distant future... ;-)

    Were I you, I would leave well enough alone. [​IMG] On my system, the different
    versions seem to have to be installed from bottom to top, and uninstalled
    from top to bottom. So if you have plenty of disk space, just leave the
    lower versions alone.
