    Hi
If you have Windows 8 on this machine it should still be under warranty - is it ?

Did you make any recovery disks or image the drive or do you have a full installation disk ?

Why was it necessary to replace the hard drive and who has done this ?

If you downloaded a legit copy of Win 8 from Microsoft there should be no issues with activation, just install and let it activate. When you paid for the download you would have recieved a key code.

The isue would not be activating Windows. You will need to be sure to have all the system drivers from the Asus site.

How do you know ? Have you tested it ?
Dropping it may just have dislodged it on the connection - or may have dislodged the RAM Modules.

iv download my version of windows 8 from pirate bay, on the bottle there's a windows 8 sticker but there is no product key ( the sticker has like a chip or something behind it). And when i had the old hard drive in it would not come up in the bios iv checked the connections a number of times and there all fine, As soon as i put the new hard drive in it registered it in the bios straight away.

I have just tried to access TPB - my ISP has blocked it :)

    Read this:
In 2009, the website’s founders were put on trial in Sweden, charged with facilitating illegal downloading of copyrighted material. They were found guilty and sentenced to a year in prison with a fine of 30 million SEK (€2.7M or US$3.5M as of 2009). In fourteen countries, ISPs have been ordered to block access to the website.

Looks like an illegal download to me.

We are not going to help you with pirated software. If you had a legitimate key you could have downloaded the software legally. This thread is closed according to our rules,

Hi BeeCeeBee - you may want to delete the illegal URL from the posters last post.

Because M$ don't provide a download for legitimate users it doesn't mean that you can download an illegal version via a Torrent.

You are wrong or being misguided. Get in touch with the manufacturer and they will get you a disk. They may charge you.

I actually thought I had locked this thread after post 10 but I guess I skipped over that step. :) I locked later it a bit later tand that is why there are more posts
