My Documents Gone From Desktop

    My Documents folder seems to have disappeared from Desktop. I found it in COMPUTER/Local Disc (C:)/Users/WILLIAM named My Documents (folder) and My Documents (shortcut).
    How can I get it back to the Desktop where it belongs and was before now. I must have somehow moved it-I am unsure. But I want it back on Desktop like it was. What can I do? Thanks for any suggestions.

    Right click an empty area of the Desktop. A context menu should open.
    Click on Personalize.
    On the left hand pane , click on Change Desktop icons.
    Put a check mark in User's files.
    Click OK.
    Click the red X at the top right corner to close the Personalization window.
