As long as you do the upgrade correctly. As long as you prepare correctly. As long as you do the upgrade on a fairly recent machine with no issues and no stupid programs running, like 4th party antiviruses, or other nonsense that could potentially conflict with your windows 10 install.

And, if you realize that you truly need a clean install to really see how the operating system will work because it's brand new, and knowing how to do that clean install.

You are good to go!

How do you figure Win10 is great? I view it as anything but great. It is a step in a backwards direction. We have fast processors with gigabytes of ram that can launch a space shuttle but Win10 won't let me change title bar color without a hack. Windows 3.1 let me change titlebar colors and Win 10 is a step forward? I say if this is the future we need to review the past. Also bring back good programming. What do I mean by this? Bring back keyboard shortcuts. You remember them they were the text in a button that was underlined and activated by pressing alt+the underlined letter. Why remove it? It worked. You could navigate the OS without a mouse. Make it faster but remove functionality? I say BLAH! Go back to the drawing board and remember why people adopted Windows in the first place. Just my two cents but what do I know I like Windows 8.

Since you haven't yet installed Windows 10, how can you comment intelligently on it?

I say install it first and use it for a while. If you still don't like it, then at least you've made an informed decision.

BTW, Welcome to Computer Help Forums, bringIT.

I haven't had any issues with Windows 10 or the functionality of it, or the UI. I have now installed it on 13 machines overall and have not encountered any issues. I don't see it as a monumental step forward but I see it as basically Windows 8.2 - essentially that is what it is. You liked windows 8 well there you have it. Windows 10 is merely a smoothing out of Windows 8 sort of in the same manner Windows 7 was to Vista. Then again everyone has their own take, and personal views, coupled with their own experience. It's all good. :)

I do not have it installed on my machines however, I have used it remotely via others machines. So I do have keyboard time with it.

I did it remotely on two of the machines after the customer themselves installed it. Just tweaked menus up a bit to look as much like Windows 7 as I could and tweaked the default privacy settings etc.
