I moved my computer out of one room and into my addition about 130 feet away from where I had it. It ran just fine the room I had it in, now after I moved it it'll freeze on start-ups, very slow loading my browsers and web sites, sometime it'll also freezes opening the web sites, it makes no sense to me. It worked fine for years and never had a problem with it running slow or freezing up. My computer is wifi connected and I am a lot further away from the wifi router now. What would cause this problem to just happen like that after I moved its location, could it be a weak wifi signal at times?

I would suspect it is possibly the distance of the wifi signal. Could also be some interference in the addition like a wall or metal studs. Do you know how far away from the router it is now?

I have a Starlink dish on my roof and the wifi router in the living room (center of the house), it doesn't give me much signal strength in the addition, I'm about 50 feet away from the main router. Starlink also has a mini router booster, I'll have to do some more reading and see if that would help boost the signal.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I purchased a Starlink mini mesh router and put it in the garage, getting a better wifi signal now, I'm still about 30ft away from the mini. When I first start my computer in the morning it takes a while to load, maybe 20 minutes, after that it does runs a lot faster. I'll have to do more research online about Starlink seeing they have no customer service number, I need to know if this mini router receives it signal from the dish on the roof, or the main router in the living room.

Your computer starting up slow has nothing to do with the wifi. I would check and see if there are a lot of programs starting up that don't need to be. Also if you are using the old Hard Drive type and not a SSD that would make it slow also. If you are using the old hard drives you could try and defragment it. If you are using a SSD then you can optimize it which sets the trim.
