Okay, so I purchased a new MB for the computer I was building, I installed everything, got it all set up with an Intel G1620 CPU and Kingston RAM. Problem was, when I turned this computer on all it did was turn on and off, it would never even POST. I tried everything I could think of, different RAM a different CPU, a different PSU, you name it. Same issue. Finally out of desperation I stuck the RAM in slot four, and walla! it started right up. I tried it in slot three. It worked there too. One and two would both send the system into the restart circle if I used them, but not three and four. The system works fine like this, but I would like to get it fixed if I can. Right now if I stick two RAM sticks at a time in it, it will only use one of them, and two of the USB ports on the back if something is unplugged or plugged into them while the PC is running instantly shut the computer down. They work, you just can plug anything into them while the computer is running or it shuts down. I updated the BIOS, any other ideas on what I could do?

I'd return it under warranty. You should not have problems with a new M/B.

I agree, it sounds as if you have a defective mobo.

Sigh, that is what I was afraid of... I tried to return it right after I got it, and the company I got it from went back on their warranty and blamed me for all the problems. (It was an open box board. They said it was new, and they had a good rating so I believed them :( , oh well, I'll know better for next time) Thanks for your replies :)

Open box or not if its new it should be under warranty and it should work. If I were you I would write a review at resellerratings.com and watch how quickly the slimeballs offer you the "kitchen sink".

Yeah the good retailers have people sitting there watching and get to you before it is ever published.
