    Hi,

When I start downloading from MSDN using the File Transfer Manager - I can
see the download becoming active but then I get an error : " The Server SSL
certificate is issued by a certificate that is unfamiliar to the Client " .
For this I found a work around to , simply in the file transfer manager -
options connection tab "uncheck the file transfer mode of https" . This
worked , but as I did not need to do this earlier and all was well - I am
concerned if unchecking HTTPS will cause some kind of 'side effect ' at
    another time ?

    Please help !

Apparently MSDN's cert is not quite up to snuff OR, there is some
security software installed that is preventing FTM from recognizing the
    cert.
You can just leave the https option unchecked for MSDN downloads, deduce
which security software may be causing this behavior, or contact MSDN
and ask why this situation exists with the FTM.
Since you won't be using the file transfer manager anywhere but at the
MSDN downloads page there should be no side effects.
