    Firefox is not the only browser affected. It caused problems on IE too. A lot of Microsoft Community Experts recommended dumping Mcafee. As soon as my subscription ran out, I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials.

    The issue is not McAfee antivirus or security software which I believe you are referring to, it is an addon. McAfee SiteAdvisor to firefox that evaulates sites and tagging them whether or not they are safe for you to go there. Firefox is contemplating on removing it due to the fact Firefox feels it slows down their browser thus causing performance problems.

    My experience has been that if one has too many Addons added to any browser it will slow it down. A user should be picky in their selection of addons and keep them to a minimum.
