Hi---think'n about getting a larger monitor. Now have a 15" ( diag.). Would like say a 22" (diag.) Would help the the POOR eyes!
Would my Del 521 run one?
Seems like Walmart ( in ship to store--free )has more than NewEgg

Here are some of the brands I saw there, all have: 1680X1050 resolution.
    1. SVA ( THE CHEAPEST--$139 )
    2. NSUS
    3. HP
    4. AOC
    5. NEC
    6. VIEW SONIC
    7. ACER
Which are good---which to stay away from? Are there others not listed here that would be good ? ( like $200 or less )

    Appreciate any thoughts-----------------------~gunnner :)

With a 22"/23" Monitor you can fit two separate internet pages next to each other nicely, thats why everybody looks at getting 22"+ monitors ;)

We have suggested 22/23" Monitors for good reason,Gunnner.
In the end,it's your choice to make.
A 23" Monitor has roughly a 20" wide viewing screen.

Santa brought me a second ASUS 23" because I wanted Dual Monitors.
Santa, was good to me, this year.:)

Only if your Computer can support 2 Monitors.
Good Graphics Card is very important.
    I run a NVIDIA 9500 GT Card.

Most newer computers have sufficient graphics to allow for dual monitors but, if I were you I would stick to the large single monitor. Once you have what you want you may want to consider upgrading to Windows7. The snap feature that automatically resizes a window to 1/2 the screen width is great with a large monitor. In fact, it is not to shabby with a good widescreen laptop.

That is not a Black/white Monitor shown in the Link, you supplied.Gunnner.
I would find a 2 colour Monitor frame too distracting.
    Mine are all Black.
    Most are all Black Frames.

I read that as a choice between either black or white. The picture doesn't look like it is two toned. But then I would at least ask.

By the way, when I was shopping for a TV I saw two different sets with the same specs and from the same company. I asked the difference and was told that the trend is toward glossy cases as opposed to matte black. In all other respects they were the same. I got the matte one. :D I am assuming that the same "logic" applies to monitors. It may be worth a trip to one of the bigger outlets to see if there are any bargains.

I will take your word for it. The picture is misleading. Gloss = figerprints. My new laptop has a glossy black case and it drives me crazy each time I close it.

    That's most unusual Patrick.
I did a lot of research on Monitors and 3 large Computer Shops here, told me they have Never had one ASUS come back for any problems whatsoever.

I was waiting for someone to knock ASUS and suggest something else.:D

From what I have worked out and looked at It comes down to three, Acer, Asus & Dell It would also for some strange Reason that 23" Offer Better value, But as to which one would seem to be down to what offers, what store have, at what time.
