Skydrive is from Microsoft and apparently one can store up to 25GB of data free with access to them anywhere you have an Internet connection.
Keep personal files password protected. You can share files with friends. Or drop them in a public folder for the world to see
SkyDrive is from Microsoft's Windows Live. You have to sign up or log in with your Windows Live ID.

I've used this for some time, not to keen on sharing but very useful for backing up family photos and copies of important files ;) well their important to me and irreplaceable should something happen to my PC, mentioned it in a couple threads as their are a number of sites that offer the same service :)

There are others, I know ... and perhaps should have 'rounded them up' and placed all together in one area for easy reference for our members.

I feel much like you do, Match - out of all our possessions, the family photos are most precious to me! :)

I don't feel secure unless my data is backed up on media I physically control.

that's fine and I feel the same just a little inconvenient carrying it everywhere with me, and in this day and age one can't be too careful about theft, or worse house fire's, floods, planes crashing with Volcanic ash in the engine's :p, just lately tornado's are even appearing round the UK, so online storage to me offers another safe backup option, even if it's not 100% secure, but then it's not like I class bank statements and alike as important, and any criminal who manages to get my money before everyone else does had better let me know how they did it, as I would also like a chance to spend my money some time :p
