Microsoft keeps prompting me to sign in to the account every time I boot up. Is there anyway I can stop seeing this other than actually signing in to Microsoft? Thanks.

See: Sign-in automatically with Microsoft Account in Windows 10 (winaero.com)

That said, think twice before doing this. If you disable this feature, it means anyone stepping up to your computer can access your computer without entering a password. If you have absolute "physical" control over your computer 24/7/365, and there is no chance an untrusted user (like a whizkid nephew or a bad guy breaking into your home) can access your computer, then going without a password may be okay.

I might suggest changing your password (through Ctrl-Alt Del) to something easier to type. Note that "Fred had a big ram" is harder to break than "GT&^(39ju1". Why? 18 characters are harder to determine than 10.

Yes that describes my situation exactly. No family, no visitors, 24/7 at home, no password needed or wanted, complete control of PC.

Never mind, I found it myself and made the necessary adjustments in settings and turned it off!

:( Gee whiz. Of course we are willing to help. I provided a link to a possible solution but you never came back and told us if you even tried it?

Now you say you found it yourself but didn't tell us how. Tech support forums like this are here to learn and to share what we have learned. Otherwise, they help no one.

So how about sharing what you learned and tell us how you resolved your problem so that it may help others with the same issue in the future?

I am wiping the egg off my face now. I had thought the adjustments I made in settings did the trick as the notice didn't return the next time I logged in, but it did return the third time I logged in, so I have the same situation.
The previous information I was given was just about signing in to the MS account. What I need to know is how to get rid of the "pop-up" about Microsoft. I made a few adjustments to how I get information from MS, but apparently that was not enough.

You never did tell us what you did. You can try this from https://www.makeuseof.com/automatically-sign-user-in-windows-10/

    1. Use Netplwiz to Sign In to a User Account Automatically
The easiest way to automatically log in to a user account on Windows 10 is to use the netplwiz utility. This utility comes preloaded on all Windows machines, and you need to tweak an option to enable automatic login.

To get started, keep your username and password handy, and then follow these steps to automate the login process on your PC:
    1. Press Windows Key + R, type netplwiz in the box, and hit Enter.
    2. Click the Users tab in the dialog box that appears.
    3. Click your user account in the list of all users on your PC.
    4. Untick Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer at the top. This enables you to sign in to your account automatically. Then, click Apply.
    5. A prompt will appear asking for your logins. Type your username in the User name field, enter your password in both Password and Confirm Password fields, and click OK.
    6. Click OK on the main utility interface.

Now hold on guys, no one seems to understand what I am asking. I do not want to log in to Microsoft automatically or otherwise. Every thing that has been told to me has been about logging in. All I am trying to do is to STOP the POP-UP every time I log in my PC. The pop-up prompt shows up on my desk top after I boot up. I am not set up with MS on this computer, I just want to stop the prompt on my desktop. I do not know what that adjustment would be or even if it can be stopped. Not only that, but I am attaching it again, so you can see it. Likewise, I am NOT interested in logging in to Microsoft. I don't know how else to ask this.

See this new attachment, maybe it will help to understand my question. This pop-up shows up on my desk top after I boot up. This is what I want to stop.

Oh, that's helps. So you're already logged into your user profile and then a message pops up asking you to sign in to your MS account. That indeed is different. If might have to do with OneDrive. I've seen MS updates that set OneDrive to start with Windows. OneDrive requires a MS account

Go to the Task Manager and look under the Startup tab. See if One Drive is Enabled. If it is, Disable it.

Yes that is correct. I did check Task Manager and I see that One Drive is disabled at this time. I have never used One Drive and never activated it.

Drats. anything in the startup items that looks like it's Microsoft-related? Check in the Publisher column.

Nothing obvious that I can see. I attached a copy of the start-up.

Nothing obvious in there either. You can probable disable the Krptel Shredder. No need to have it startup. Just fire it up when you need it. Well, that's my thought as one who's never used it. It's usually the way programs work. They like to be in the startup so when you do click to run them, they show up faster.

Next: Go to Settings / Apps. Look at the Startup apps. You'll find it in the left hand pane at the bottom of the list.

Next: Use the Windows key + R to bring up the Run menu.
In the text field, type shell:startup
    Then click on the OK
Is there anything in there that looks like it might be Microsoft related?

I turned off Kryptel on start up. See the attachment but it is empty.
This morning when I turned on the PC no pop up was seen so far. This is vert strange as I haven't done anything I know of to correct it.

If it comes up again, we can ask out malware pro to take a look at your system. He uses a program that taps into the registry. I’m not saying it’s malware, but he can spot startup items in the registry.

Unfortunately it happened the very next tine I logged in. But I have trouble thinking it is a virus, I never heard of MS doing that and who else would have an interest in doing that? I'm thinking more like it is something built into Windows that activates if I do not "sign up"?

To be honest, you haven't really given much to go on.
Ok, so let's start with the basics here and try and get a better understanding of the situation.
So are you saying that you boot straight into your account/profile without any type of password access?

Have you gone through the account options?
Settings >>> Accounts >>> Your Info

Have you tried the Sign in options?
    Settings >>> Accounts >>> Sign-in options

    You also say:
What do you mean by ... your not setup with MS on this computer?
This problem could happen if the device you are using hasn't been verified for the Microsoft Account you are using and you have Apps that require a verified account to access data (e. g. Onedrive, settings sync, Mail, etc.)

Are you using an Admin account or Standard User?
If as Administrator, have you set it to 'local account'?
