For months and years I have run MSE scans and never ever found any threats. Today though I found this. (see file upload)
This is first threat I have ever seen detected. I promptly removed it. Just in case. I have no idea what it even is. I run a quick scan every Sunday morning. Usually nothing is ever found.

QUESTION: Is this threat really REAL??????? Anyway I just did what it said to do to remove it.

No idea what a RapidMonitor program is. I never ever had ANY items FOUND when I did scans until NOW. I would guess it refers to the program that was there and then removed for I see nothing like that now.
I was hoping someone on the forum might be familiar with this. It could not even really BE a threat.

    I GOOGLED it: https://www.google.com/search?q=Tro...IoFGEMYsQPCAggQABiABBixA8ICExAuGIAEGIoFGEMYsQ

ml or Trojan:Win32/Wacatac is a type of malware that infects your PC disguised as legitimate software. It typically affects Windows devices and can lead to further malware infections, personal data theft, and your device becoming a part of a botnet.

I guess I did right by cleansing it with MSE. Ran more scans and it did not appear.

I used to scan once a week, mainly because it never found anything. Now I am scanning daily for a short while to make sure it did not come back. First time I just panicked and took steps to remove it without learning more about it. Like you might swat a fly or mosquito. Should have removed then researched it I guess.

Scanning daily is a good idea.
In most cases when something is found, it is legitimate so quarantine it and see if the computer behaves.

Since I had this occurrence I have scanned daily including the longer full scan. So far I have seen no returns. No idea where I got this thing.
