If I have run a daily scan every morning for 2-3 weeks and nothing found, should I continue a daily morning scan or add a weekly full scan? Always did weekly before and nothing ever found until the recent virus.

Weekly is fine Bill I do that myself as well as a Malwarebytes scan in-between that.

I think I will return to a weekly quick scan as before since nothing has been found since the Trojan.
I HAVE a malwarebytes program in my programs list but nothing happens if I click it. It must have been a free trial. I just got a notice saying free trial over. I am checking on FREE as the notice says.
Looks like they are just trying to sell me a non-free version. think I will skip it. It now says Malwarebytes Free 4.5.33. And an ACTIVATE SUBSCRIPTION box next to an orange BUY NOW box. Now has scanned over 800,000 items with 4 detections. Trying to sell me. See below result.

This version when I now click icon does say 4.6.8. May have D/L the free version because when I clicked icon in programs the first time nothing happened. Now this one comes up. Have not used it for some time now. At my age is the free version best? And what do I do about the detected items? Thanks for any help. Even though I have it on my laptop I do not recall using it recently and I am pretty-much Malwarebytes ignorant.
In C:/ProgramFiles/Malwarebytes the folder date is Thursday, December 27, 2018 but now when I click it and it opens it says version 4.6.8 at the top. So I must have installed a free version since when I clicked it before nothing happened.
I had several Malwarebytes scans and have posted the final one here. There are 6 items instead of the original 4.

I went to the CDrive Malwarebytes Folder in Program Files. The original folder is dated Thursday, ‎December ‎27, ‎2018, ‏‎10:48:14 PM while the ones with the M icon are today's date. Some others have different dates in between. I will need more education on Malwarebytes.
I just did a search for tutorials on how to use Malwarebytes. Saved it. AND...the file posted in post #4 above is outdated. It was to illustrate post #3 above it. I since did another with 6 items found. The one in post #6.
Use the newest one with 6 items. The one in this post.

You let the program quarantine them as it is supposed to do!
From time to time, look at the quarantined items and delete them.

Since I have 5 lifetime paid licenses, I have not used the free program so I can't help you there. My programs, on 5 devices auto updates, protects me all the time and scans on the schedule I set which is once a week. It also blocks us from questionable sites. I do not override a block for a site. My husband and I are extremely conservative surfers and I rarely download things. He never does. He depends on me to keep his computers running.

Looks like I have a free trial of Malwarebytes Premium, whatever that means.
Is your weekly scan a full scan or a quick scan? Or maybe I am thinking of MS Security Essentials. Maybe MWB is just one type of scan?

Every new version comes with a 14 day trial of the paid version.
There are 3 things in the scan settings. Let it alone. This is the default and it is what perfect at the default settings.

The Malwarebytes Premium Trial found 6 quarantined items (see uploaded file). What should I do with them?

The above files are not familiar to me. Should I delete (remove) them or what?

Since I do not recognize nor use these quarantined items is it OK to simly delete them? Or just leave them in quarantine. Unsure what to do.

Leave them in quarantine a few days, just on the slim chance something is a false positive and needed on your computer.

I read that it said to keep them a few weeks to be sure then delete..... "Rule of thumb is is wait two weeks. If they are not False Positives and break software, Delete from quarantine. The two week period is long enough to discern if they are indeed False Positives or break software."

That's a good rule of thumb.
Quarantine for 2 weeks and if no problems ensue, delete them.
