I just started using Microsoft EDGE, I see it has Profile 1. How do I create a Sign In user and password for Profile 1?

I also was using Google Chrome. Should I import any data from that? Just trying to learn to use EDGE.

I am not totally sure anything was wrong with Chrome. I had been using Google for awhile then one day went to Chrome for some reason I have forgotten. . Then I found that all my saved passwords had disappeared. And the desktop icon shortcuts would not work. And the whole screen windows had changed. Not being able to connect to internet I did not know what to do so I went to MS Edge, quick restored 3-4 times, and imported passwords from another browser and printed them. Maybe it was not Chrome's fault at all but something I might have done. I am now using Edge on W-7 and My Pal on XP. Should I leave it this way or what? Awhile baack I had downloaded several Browsers as a backup which was probably a good idea. But maybe Chrome is OK after all now that things seem fixed.

You are talking about 2 different things here. Google is a search engine and can be used with any browser.
I use google as my search engine in Palemoon, Firefox ESR and Vivaldi.

Sorry for the mistake. Maybe I always had Chrome. But my passwords disappeared from saved list one day and I did not know why. Used Edge awhile but unsure how to set up profiles and sign in so went back to Chrome. I know Google is a search engine and I do use it but usually use DuckDuck. I do not think about the technical stuff much.

I am now back to using Chrome with DuckDuckGo as search engine. I have other browsers installed that I can use but this one seems satisfactory. Guess I will juts have to go to websites that interest me, try to log in, and see if it offers to save password. Hoped there might be an easier way.
