    My Micro Sd card has got virus. It has some php files that i want to copy to my laptop. I don't have any malware program on my laptop. Windows 7 is installed on my laptop. Pc from where Sd card got viurs runs on Windows xp.

    There is another option. I copy files to my smartphone and then to my laptop. As my phone runs on android, virus may not infect my smartphone. I have also AVG Pro on my smartphone.

    Why can't you just install an anti-virus program on the laptop? There are many free versions.

    Run Malwarebytes on laptop Umar, we haven't seen a real virus in years so an antimalware program is really what you want and run it with the card in the laptop so it can scan that also.

    Yes, i still need help. I am looking for a solution/program that detects and scan removable media as soon as it is inserted in laptop.

    Thanks

    I don't think you're going to find such a program. For removable media, that has to be manually checked (box ticked) to add it to the scan.

    In windows 8/8.1/10....Defender will do that, but you have to manually tick the box to be added in the scan and same for MSE if using 7 or below.

    I have a small suggestion if the virus was intended to infect your PHP files I will try to change the extension to HTML hoping with a possibility of the virus not working in the HTML and then scan it with an antivirus you could do that by using your phone which was a good idea being an android I HOPE I will help you good luck Omar

    Flash Disinfector.exe by sUBs was the tool I had in mind...It's for XP and when ComboFix was created by the same author. He gave all his attention to Cf...What was recommend for a Flash Drive Scanning Tool is Dr.Web CureIt.
    • Dr.Web CureIt Click here
    • Choose Custom Scan after the Express Scan has finished to add your usb or external drive to the scan.

    ok. I downloaded CureIt and scanned sd card. It detected the threats and neutralized them. Icons of infected files and folders changed to shortcuts after CureIt neutralized the threats.

    Today i inserted my Micro SD Card into another computer on lab to copy some files to my SdCard but i was unable to copy files to it and windows was giving error. I think it was infected again with some other viruses. I scanned it again with Dr. Web CureIt. It detected threats again but asking for reboot to neutralize them. I rebooted my laptop but it did not cure the infected files. I think as it is a free program and does not start automatically when windows starts that is why it could not not neutralize them.

    I have formatted the Micro SD Card and now it is working fine. I can copy the files to Micro Sd card again.

    Good job I was wondering why that wasn't the first thing you did actually but I guess I thought there might be something on the card you needed. I should have asked that.
    I don't understand why it could not remove the problems though because free or not should not affect that. The other thing to ask is what kind of protection are you running that this happened in the first place umar as that most certainly needs to change.

    Ah, yes that is true. But wouldn't you expect to see "cannot remove" or something like that?

    I've never heard of that software and I'd be a bit iffy about using it as well. When using that software did you make any changes to the drives it scanned....pointing it to just scan the SD card that was inserted in you laptop?

    Was there any thing important on the SD card that needed to be saved first before the format decision?

    @Rich-M

    I did not see any such message. I also scanned Sd card with Malwarebytes. It did not detect any threat but when i tried to open one of the files created by malware it caught it and stopped it.

    @bassfisher6522

    I just scanned Sd Card with CureIt. Yes, there were files in card that i needed and i copied them to laptop after CureIt detected and neutralized threats first time.

    If I remember correctly, Umar didn't post in Malware Removal originally.
    This thread has been moved to Malware removal, so you can't blame those trying to help.
    They prob didn't realize the thread had been moved.
    No post to that effect till now.

    I was thinking we're in "General Malware And Security" until today...... Okay, let us see what we are dealing with.
    Where are the files you copied them from?
    Can you copy and paste and post the contents of the log from Dr.Web?
