Farah Fawcet dead at 62 after battling cancer and trying to help others through it as well. Not as great a loss to the entertainment world but perhaps to humanity.

That does not say much for American culture does it?

I try to watch CNN when I get the chance to catch up on things and it seems that nothing else has happened in the world except one "eccentric" has died.

There are bigger stories in the news and I, quite frankly, am tired of this one.

    RIP but he is gone.

    Has anything ever? :lglaf:

Yes I will be happy when he is buried, and the press can go back to doing their job.

although I have a feeling some idiot will vandalise his grave or do something to bring him back into the news.

then their are the idiots that will want to commemorate the anniversary of his death.

all I have to say is that the poor guy was hounded by the press most of his life, I doubt he ever new the meaning of privacy, I think it is about time the press showed a little dignity and respect and left him alone.

Michael Jackson will be buried in a solid bronze, gold-plated coffin worth $25,000. Maybe they will leave him alone and just steal the casket Match?

Snub off: Michael Jackson's UK fans can now attend his funeral by entering a draw - but they'll have to compete with half a billion others for tickets!

After the outrage amongst Michael Jackson's army of UK fans yesterday, when they were told that only Americans could apply for tickets to Tuesday’s public memorial service, they have now been allowed to attend.

In a swift U-turn last night, the promoters AEG Live updated their website to allow Jackson admirers from all over the world the chance to go to the service.

Many fans had said the singer himself would be horrified at the ban on the British – especially as he had chosen the UK to stage his comeback concerts.
But now all fans can apply online for free tickets and 17,500 will be randomly selected.

Randy Phillips, boss of AEG Live, who were backing the singer's run of O2 gigs, said: 'Now it's open, so UK residents and other residents of other nationalities can enter - it's available to the world.'

Sounds to me like UK has a lot of fans of Michael Jackson and pushed real hard to make this happen...

So much for a quiet dignified affair - gentle sigh.

Wonder how long until people decide the poor fellow isn't dead after all - and the news starts showing people who swear they've seen him.

(Not to upset anyone reading this, truly ... but a solid/sealed casket is far, far from the best choice ... not knocking Funeral Homes here as making money is part of their business - but ugh).
