I use Windows 10 Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044 on a laptop Acer Aspire. Recently, I tried turning on Memory Integrity just to give my pc a bit more security. I got the notice from Windows that Memory Integrity cannot be turned on. "Try resolving incompatible issues with your drivers." How can I do that? Thanks.

It doesn't like one or more of your drivers. Does it give you any more information?

No, it gives no other info, so I couldn't figure out which driver it did not like.

I ran the process again and this time Windows did give me the driver in question. See attached.

That's a problem due to the Western Digital driver. There's a good discussion of the issue on WD's forum https://community.wd.com/t/unable-t...tern-digital-driver-windows-10-2004/252131/12

This looks like it might work:
In case it helps anyone, I managed to resolve this (enable Memory Integrity and achieve "enhanced hardware security) on my own Windows 10 Pro version 2004 machine, and still use my WD passport drive

This is what I did (it’s possible some steps were unnecessary):

Logged in to Windows as an administrator (normally I run as a Standard user), and connected all devices that were causing problems so that I could see them in Device Manager. Working out which devices are the culprits is of course the hard part, but it only required a bit of googling for the drivers listed in Settings > Windows Security > Device Security > Core isolation details. In my case the WD Drive Management drivers, a TV card driver and a Logitech keyboard settings app were responsible.

In Device Manager, disable each of the problematic devices, then uninstall their drivers, selecting the option to remove all files and settings where this is offered. In Windows > Apps and Features uninstall any programs that were used to install the affected drivers (WD has none but the others did).

Power down the PC. Unplug all the affected devices. Start the PC again.

Return to the Core isolation details page. You should now be able to enable Memory Integrity. If not, check in your BIOS that virtualisation is enabled, in my case this was tricky to find, on the “Overclocking” page in a setting called “SVM”. Reboot the PC.

I found that I could then plug in my WD Passport drive and re-enable the other devices and use them as normal. In other words, once Memory Integrity is enabled it seems to stay enabled, even though the WD SES device has reappeared in Device Manager.

If it was as simple as changing out the Western Digital driver, and I knew where to get it from, I would do it. As it is the whole process above is a bit more complicated than I can handle as an average user and not a tech person. I will try to find that specific driver on line and download it if I can. Thanks for the advice.

The attached is what I found out online at the WD community forum. I guess it basically puts me back to square one. I have not tried to delete the driver. Waiting to hear from you. Thanks.

It's a tough situation. Do you use a WD drive? If not, uninstall any software related to WD.

Not to my knowledge. The only WD I know of is the one drive connected to this issue. I will try to delete that one.

Ok, I found one WD driver using the power shell driver list so that must be the one, oem8.inf, I tried to delete it using the power shell commands but was denied access. I do not know where to locate it in the Control Panel(Device Manager) in order to delete it that way if I can. Suggestions? See attachment.

    2 thoughts this morning
    1) If you go to Settings / Apps, are there any WD programs listed? If so, uninstall them.
    3) Try deleting that drivers while in Safe Mode.

No I have no WD programs listed. As far as going into Safe Mode and deleting from there, if it were something critical to the operation of my pc I might dig deeper into it. As it is this Windows function is not critical, and I have other means to do the same thing. GlassWire and Bitdefender should protect me there. To me Windows should take care of this themselves through updates. After all, they attached this useless driver with every Win 7 and Win 10 application and perhaps Win 11 application but then arrogantly tell the consumer to fix the problem themselves. Times like this are when I wish I had installed Linux.
Thank you for your help anyway.

In case this ever comes up again, I was able to go into
    C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\wdcsam.inf_amd64_7ce69fc8798d6116

and delete the driver from there, then the core memory integrity turned on after that.
