I have had this on my laptop for a long time but do not recall using it much. I find I do not really understand it now but do have a Premium Trial 4.6.8. I need a tutorial or explanation how to operate with it. Anyone know of a tutorial or directions? And is this something I should buy? It says " Activate Subscription and Buy Now on the opening page.Thursday, ‎December ‎27, ‎2018, ‏‎10:48:14 PMrograms Folder has a date of Thursday, ‎December ‎27, ‎2018, ‏‎10:48:14 PM which I guess is when I first installed it.

You don't "operate" the paid version. It does everything automatically. It updates, scans on a schedule and blocks sites that have malware - you get a popup telling you what site has been blocked.

Again, I have deleted the quarantined items after 2-3 scans which found nothing using the free trial version. How often should I repeat scans? If finds nothing.

I would run a quick scan once weekly if you use your computer frequently, Bill.

Sounds good Cindy. Thank you very much. I do not think what few threats were found or quarantined warrants a paid version. I can just run a scan each week.

With Malwarebytes Free I get constant come-ons to buy the premium version and to run a scan whenever it says there are new files detected.

I think that is a small 'price' to pay for free protection scans, don't you? :)

Even though I could afford it, I think I will do well enough with Malwarebytes free, run a weekly scan, leave what is found in quarantine for 2 weeks and then delete items in 2 weeks if no problems. Ran a scan a few times and found zero a few times and 1 PUP today.

Truthfully, since I run Windows 7, which hasn't been updated in years on four computers in the house, I want something that is going to protect my husband and me in real time. Three of the four computers are used daily.

If MBAM's next version will no longer install on Windows 7, then it will be time for me to stop surfing on our Windows computers and move on to android for me and pass the chromebook to my husband.

How do I keep the Malwarebytes Free? Does it end if I continue NOT to buy premium or does it continue on?

It doesn't end it will still work It will just keep popping up to buy it. That is just their advertising pop up but you don't need to buy it.

Did another scan today and nothing found. Hardly ever seems to find anything. All ZEROES. I also do a Microsoft Security essentials once a week or sooner. I leave computer on the whole day and close lid to put in standby when not in use. Then it is ready if I wish to use it during the day. At bedtime i shut it down.

I usually do a Microsoft Security Essentials and a Malwarebytes scan every few days and usually nothing is ever found. but it keeps me informed. Awhile back the Trojan WACATAC was a real surprise. Nothing found for years then THAT.
