Is it considered best NOT to have log ins 'remembered' by PC or browser but to type them in fresh each time?

I have all log ins remembered by my PC'S. Never had a issue yet.
Providing your PC's are free of "Rootkits" it shouldn't be a problem.
Never have the same log in details for all sites.

Thanks. Dougie. There are some sites which I do allow remembering, including this one. But on it the Login is there but i have to apply it. I got concerned when I read this FireFox warning on one of the sites and then questioned if it is OK to save logins

<<Save Login: Not recommended: You can also continue to log in to the website even if the connection is insecure, but do so at your own risk. If you do go this route, try to use a unique password or a password that you don’t also use for other important sites.
    About insecure pages

Pages that need to transmit private information, such as credit cards, personal information and passwords, need to have a secure connection to help prevent attackers from stealing your information. (Tip: A secure connection will have "HTTPS" in the address bar, along with a green lock icon.)

Pages that don’t transmit any private information can have an unencrypted connection (HTTP). It is not advised to enter private information, such as passwords, on a web page that shows HTTP in the address bar. The information you enter can be stolen over this insecure connection.>>

In Firefox 51 the Tools/Options/Security has a Remember Logins For Sites with a greyed out box that I cannot check. Also the Saved Logins is active.
How to I fix it so logins are remembered and I can check the box?

Think I found answer. Had to change Privacy/Use Custom Settings to Remember History and now Logins are saved.
