While writing a lengthy email I must have hit a key by accident and the whole letter text disappeared and went blank in Windows Live Mail 2012 and only 2 characters I just typer were on page. I did not see how to get it back so just closed it. Anyone know why this might have happened and how to undo or get it back if it happens again? Never happened before. Some programs have an undo. Could not find one here.

I'm working on my lengthy Christmas letter.

I write the letter in LibreOffice (it's free) and edit it, check the spellings, etc. I save it from time to time then reopen and add to it.
When I'm done, I simply ctrl+C to copy it into an email.

ctrl+z is the undo key. Though I'm not sure if it works in Live Mail 2012 because I don't use any email program.

<<Why do you keep using all these email accounts, when advised, there are better choices?>>

    I don't know...convenience I guess. Until something inconvenient occurs.

I do not mean to upset you guys but sometimes it just seems convenient to open up Windows Live Mail and have a gmail account and a Verizon AOL account right there ready to use instead of waiting for the delay to go online to the webmail which I do have also and so I do know the difference. Not just one option because I am stubborn but several options because I like to choose. Sorry if it offends anyone. No harm intended.
Not familiar with LibreOffice but may check it out. And to answer my own question, there probably exists an UNDO button somewhere but I couldn't find it at the time..

    Microsoft says:
    QUOTE

"You can click the Undo Icon at the top/left corner of the compose window.

You can also press the Undo keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Z). plodr is correct.

The Undo component can go back several steps."

    UNQUOTE.

UNDO WORKS. Hit some key, lost a few paragraphs. Looked up and clicked UNDO. Paragraphs came back.
