When I listen to music or an audio book, or I am downloading, my screen saver will come on and eventually go off after the set time. Then if I have a long download or am listening to a long audio file, my computer goes to sleep and I have to restart the download. I have my screen saver set to come on after 30 minutes but how can I keep the machine from going down? I could keep moving my mouse whenever the screen goes black but that gets tedious.
    Thanks for any info.
    Blessings, Dave Leonard.

Hi Dave, can you not set the screen saver to "Never"?
Also look in power management, you should also be able to set the sleep mode to not happen unless told to.

Ditto to the above. I echo your sentiments Dave it is frustrating to have a download interrupted.

Ok folks, I will do that. I had never needed to do it so I never before looked into how. Have a good day.

Under power settings in the control panel in case you are looking for it, Dave.

I found the power settings and set them to "never" also. I did not find in screen saver any adjustment for how long the screen saver stays on. There is an adjustment for how long to wait before it comes on but none for it to stay on. I tested the adjustment and the machine did not go into "sleep" after the screen saver went off, the screen just went black and stayed that way. I have not had opportunity yet to test when downloading a big file to see if the download continues or stops. Thanks,
    Blessings from Camiguin Island Philippines

Somewhere in power settings you should find something along the lines of "Choose when to turn off the display" might be under settings plan Dave, mine is set to never.
