Is it better to open and unsubscribe to junk emails if do not need to receive other emails from site, or simply keep deleting them?

No just delete them, some do this to see if it is an active account. Then you get more and more and more...

You can also create a filter that can put them in to.

Emails from reputable sites can be "Unsubscribed" to.

Sometimes I get needed or worthwhile mail from certain sites yet also junk emails. So I just delete them. A few I have unsubscribed to and like Rustys sai I got even more. So I think I will just delete them after reading above.
