Are you using web browser or program (which one and version) to access email?
Did you update the program (if one is used)?

Hello, and good morning to you flyguy, I just logged into my own Hotmail with Chrome and no such issue you specified. I would clear your history and cache and reset Chrome with these steps. Hopefully it will help.

    1. Click the menu icon next to the address bar.
    2. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
    3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click the Advanced link.
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the expanded page and click the Reset button.
    5. Click the Reset button in the pop-up window.

    Hi There
Clicked "restore settings to original defaults" , "other option clean up computer" waited a little over 5 minutes just looked like buffering, clicked cancel didn't work, closed the page, then tried to log in into both my Gmail & Hotmail had to answer login questions, maybe some settings changed still unable to block junk mail, should it take that long
    thanks Flyguy

It should take less than a minute. I had a problem recently with a Chrome browser. I reset it and it took a long time. I don't remember if it even finished. I ended up uninstalling Chrome and installing a fresh copy. It too was a Windows 10 machine.

You may have to tell the fresh install of Chrome your gmail UserID and Password. Then tell it to remember those.

There may be some type of glitch in your Hotmail account.
You should be able to open your Junk folder, highlight the email you wish to block and right click on it.
Block should be in the right click menu, as demonstrated in screen shot.

I have tried both my Hotmail accounts and the option is available in both of them.

It's funny, because I could and did block several addresses in my Junk Mail folder yesterday.
Today, in both of my Hotmail accounts, neither one of them show an option to Block.
Perhaps Hotmail did away with the Block feature.

That is true today I noticed the very same thing. It looks like Microsoft may be tinkering with the Hotmail settings.

    Just tried on my Hotmail....
Block is there when accessing Hotmail through ..... www.hotmail.com with Firefox or Chrome
But it's not when accessing Hotmail through the Windows 10 mail system.
The Windows mail system must be a cut down version.
