I have a type of fit bit. Its by Garmin. I put the program in my computer.. it wasn't a download per se, you go to the website and you sign in and you add your device, and they sent, with the "watch" you bought an ANT stick
You plug it in and you add all your info and you are registered... I've had this for a few years.. You have to sync your device by having it near the computer and push a button on the device and it syncs/updates.
I've done it on this win. 10 for 3 years and now it opens, but says can't find the ant stick.
I updated all my drivers, and did a windows update and it still won't open. The company did all they could do and said it's a computer problem, and it is because I have the program on my other win,7 computer and went there and the program opens fine. So what happened on this win. 10 that it won't open any more? Any help appreciated. Thank you

Hello and welcome Glo. Does your computer make a sound when you plug the ANT stick into the USB port? If it doesn’t, try another USB port

Yes , and I tried it in all 3 ports. My mouse adapter works in all 3 so nothing wrong with the ports, and the company even sent a new ANT stick, but the old one is fine because I used it in my Win7 laptop.

Maybe one of the updates is causing a conflict. See if you can roll back your computer to an earlier point in time using System Restore. To do that, go to the Search box and type in rstrui. Click on the rstrui command prompt. Follow prompts to restore system files and setting to an earlier point in time.

I wanted to do that, but my son doesn't want me to.. because I could lose any new stuff I added after that update..
I am an imager and am always adding new tubes and elements to my folders..and I don't want to back up all those files.

and yet if/when your hd dies, you have no backups. That's a bad choice you made!

I don't want to but I image our four computers now about every 2 months. I used to do it monthly when Win 7 was getting updates. I also keep at minimum 2 copies of things I don't want to lose on different storage media off the computer.
You need to have a recovery plan!

I do have an external hard drive that backs up the whole computer...but... then all the same updates will be on there too.. plus I have it backed up on the cloud with Norton.
I'm just trying to find an easier way... Yes I have had Win updates screw up other stuff on my computer but were easier fixes without doing a backup/restore.

You can try uninstalling updates. You'll find that option in the Update section of Settings.

Click on View update history. At the top will be a button to uninstall updates. Click on that and you'll get a listing of updates you can uninstall.

Thanks, I'll have my son look at that.. I get too bombarded with all of it, he is more methodical.

Success! I don't know what he did, but it's fixed. I'll ask him for a "simple" explanation to post.
    Thanks for all your help!

I manually used to back up the Win 7 computers before the 2nd Tuesday of the month when MS pushed updates. That saved me a few times when something broke. I restored the computer and turned off updates until I'd read the problem was fixed.

Years earlier I helped someone with a computer problem where a bad update would mess up her computer. I had her create a restore point every evening before she turned off the computer. If she turned it on the next morning and it didn't work properly, she'd restore to the previous evening. She did this for at least a week until one morning she turned the computer on and it worked properly.

    Thank you!
All my son did was go to "add a device" and from there added it and it worked after I entered all my info.
    Thanks again?
